The Woods of West Virginia

We drove into West Virginia yesterday and stopped at a huge swap meet along US60.

Men were gathered in the booths because there were so many old tools for sale.

At Chimney Corner we didn't notice how crooked this little general store was until we shopped and walked out.  We never could figure out what really was holding it up.

Later we drove into Hawk's Nest State Park and walked through the woods to these overlooks.  The mountains are stunning!  CSX coal trains clank, rumble and squeak - breaking the silence.  They move slowly at the base of these mountains at the water's edge, pulling a quarter mile long line of cars filled with rounded coal loads.
